Mic and Bill were two friends. One
fine morning they were on hike. As usual they were telling stories to
each other. They were quite absorbed and amused. All of a sudden Mic
foot came across to an extended rock on the road side. He cried and
sat down with the severe pain. Bill immediately open first aid medical
kit and started treating his injured foot. Slow and soft rub reduced
the severity of pain and Bill advised Mic to lay down on the road side
for few moments, so as to recover from the pain. Meanwhile, Bill
thought to initiate some discussion to divert Mic attention from the
injury. Bill said, Mic did you meet my grand father when he was alive?
Mic shook his head. Do you know on his last day in this world he
shared with the family a very strange thoughts. What was that Mic
asked? He said I am thinking that why was I here in this world? What I
had to do? Did I really get the Truth and the Reality of life? Would
there be another birth for me again? Would I be a kind man if I
re-born? He exclaimed, I have lot of questions but my weak memory is
unable to answer those, with tears in his eyes he whispered that I
lived my whole life as a machine and couldn't spare time to get
answers to these questions I lost a golden opportunity, Now I feel
that despite many certifications “I AM STILL AN IGNORANT”.
Bill told that my grand father stopped for a while and took a long
breath and then said once I read buddha's saying in
a book, "Listen attentively with one heart. A man whose
spirit shines brightly, a man whose mind is completely unified, a man
whose virtue excels everyone’s, such a man will truly appear in this
World. When he preaches precious laws, all the people will totally be
satisfied, as if the thirsty treated to drink of sweet drops of rain
from heaven. And each and every one will attain the path of liberation
from struggles."
My grand father said that the Buddha had predicted that a great Guru
by the name Karuna (mean Kindness) will manifest in due time to reveal
the Eternal Truth, establishing a pure and perfect lineage of human
race to this World. Before the passing away of the Buddha, Ananda the
principal disciple of the Buddha, asked the blessed one suppressing
his tears, "Who will teach us when you are gone?" The blessed one
replied, "I am not the first Buddha who came upon the Earth, nor shall
I be the last. In due time, another Buddha will arise in the World, a
holy one, a supremely enlightened one, endowed with wisdom in conduct,
auspicious, knowing the Universe, an incomparable leader of men, a
master of angels and mortals. He will reveal to you the same Eternal
Truth which I have taught you. He will preach his religion, glorious
in its origin, glorious at the climax and glorious at the goal in the
spirit and in the letter. He will proclaim a religious life wholly
perfect and pure, such as I now proclaim." Then Ananda said "How shall
we know him?" The blessed one said "He will be known as Mettayya,
which means, he whose name is Karuna -kindness."
Mic asked curiously what he said next? Bill kept quite for a while and
then replied, “NO” he could not utter any more word and died.
Mic said I am impressed, and believe you me that I never thought about
the cause of my being here in this world and if I am not wrong most of
us don’t think about that. Bill smiled and confessed that he too was
not much interested to know the answers but now I will spend time to
get to the Reality and Truth of life. Mic said I would be happy to
know that as well.
Next morning Mic went to Bill’s place and reminded him the commitment
they had yesterday. Bill smiled and said that last night I told my
father about the accident you met and also told him that to lesson
your pain I narrated the last minutes talk of my grand father about
the Truth and Reality of life to you. Bill was slightly more excited
then, he said that my father told that few months back he was going to
Europe on a business trip there he had an opportunity to meet a
religious scholar. His name was Osman. My father asked him those
questions which were remained unanswered to my grand father. Osman
amazed me when he informed that there is only one GOD (Allah) and
Allah sent many
Messengers from time to time, almost on each and every
part and tribe of the World. He named many but I could hardly remember
few like Adam, Noha, Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus Christ and the last one
Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon all of them). Osman also
informed my father that Allah revealed Holy Books to HIS Messengers,
like Psalms, Torah, Bible and the Quran.
Quran is the last in the series and you can find answers of any of
yours’ present and future question from there. Quran is a complete
code of life and is full of knowledge about the past, present and
future of the Universe and Quran is the Holy Book in
Islam.
